IN THE POCKET: ESSENTIAL SONGS OF PHILADELPHIA
Rocking the New Hope-Lambertville Winter Festival on Friday, January 27th

NEW HOPE, PA - (DECEMBER 16, 2011) - From the band that brought international attention to the Philadelphia music scene, The Hooters' David Uosikkinen and his band, In The Pocket will rock the 2012 Winter Festival concert at 8:00pm on Friday, January 27th in the Stephen J. Buck Theater at New Hope-Solebury High School (180 West Bridge Street ). WMMR's Pierre Robert will host the event. Tickets are $35 in advance for reserved seating, $40 at the door, or $75 for VIP tickets (includes: pre-concert reception, meet and greet with the band, trolley service to/from the reception and priority seating at the concert). The New Hope-Lambertville Winter Festival is a non-profit corporation that benefits the New Hope, Lambertville, and Solebury Parks and Recreation Departments and local food banks. Winter Festival also benefits other community organizations such as social services, schools, fire, police and rescue organizations.

"I grew up in Bucks County and spent a lot of time in New Hope," explains In The Pocket's David Uosikkinen. Doing this benefit for the New Hope and Lambertville Winter Festival is a great way to give back to a community that is very special to me."

In The Pocket: Essential Songs Of Philadelphia is the brainchild of The Hooters' David Uosikkinen. With his revolving band of celebrated Philadelphia musicians, Uosikkinen pays homage to his essential songs of Philadelphia by rerecording songs that were were recorded, written or performed by Philadelphians, and were inspirational to him growing up in and around the city. The songs are released online only at songsinthepocket.org, where a video documentary of each song can also be viewed. In The Pocket has recorded five songs to date: Joey Wilson's All My Mondays, Todd Rundgren's Open My Eyes, The Dovell's You Can't Sit Down, The Hooters cover Soon You'll Be Gone and Robert Hazard's Change Reaction. A portion of the proceeds from these digital downloads benefit Settlement Music School.

With In The Pocket: Essential Songs Of Philadelphia, Uosikkinen revisits songs that were either recorded in Philadelphia or written and performed by Philadelphians. These essential songs will feature a rotating line up of Philly's most celebrated musicians. Songs are available for download at songsinthepocket.org, where a video documentary by award winning producer/director Steve Acito of Bluewire Media accompanies each song.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Philadelphia's Settlement Music School. With six branches in PA and NJ, it is the largest community school of the arts in the United States serving 15,000 students each year regardless of age, race, or financial means.
